If you are an international qualified nurse or midwife (IQNM) and are interested in working in Australia as a registered nurse or midwife, it is important you have a valid registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

NZ registration procedure
Applicants who have the legal authority to practise as a nurse or midwife in New Zealand are subject to certain entitlements under the Trans-Tasman Mutual Recognition Act (1997 (Cth). Therefore, if you are not able to register with AHPRA, you can check whether you are qualified for New Zealand nurse registration with Nursing Council of New Zealand.
