188A Business Innovation Stream
The provisional Business Innovation and Investment visa is part of the Australian Business Innovation and Investment Program. It is also called Australian Investment Migration, Business Migration, and original subclass 163, 164 migration visas. This type of visa focuses on company turnover and is flexible with investment options.
From 1st July 2021, the company minimum turnover is AUD 750,000, the minimum net asset is AUD1.25million. This visa has a point test system. The main applicant has to have at least 65points in order to apply for this visa.
188B Investor Stream
This visa is for people who want to make a designated investment such as shares, funds or foreign currency in an Australian state or territory. This visa requires the visa applicant to have outstanding investment background and experience. The applicant should be sponsored by an Australian state or territory government and invest in complying investment during the visa duration.
For people who were invited before 1st July 2021, the applicant is required to reside in Australia for two out of four years before submitting the permanent visa application. For people who are invited after 1st July 2021, they can apply for permanent residency visa once they hold the visa for 3 years and stay in Australia for more than 2 years.
188C AUD$5 Million Significant Investor Visa
From 24th November 2012, applicants can apply for subclass 188 visa under the Significant Investor Stream – AUD$5 million investments. This visa is part of the Australian Business Innovation and Investment Program which appeals successful businesspeople and investors. This visa provides a competitive migration option to high income earners and pushes the development of Australian economy. The applicant is required to invest at least AUD$5 million into complying investments in Australia during the visa duration.
Complying Investment
From 1st July 2021, the structure of complying investment is:
- 20% in Venture capital
- 30% in Emerging Businesses
- Up to 50% balancing investment
This structure applies for both 188B investor visa and 188C significant investment visa
188E Entrepreneur Visa
For start-up and early-stage entrepreneurs who have been endorsed to develop their concepts and been nominated by a State or Territory government agency.
For people who are invited before 1st July 2021, they need to apply for Permanent visa after 4 years. For people who were invited after 1st July 2021, they can apply for permanent residency visa after 3 years.
