Skills in Demand (SID) - Subclass 482

The Subclass 482 Skills in Demand (SID) allows Australian employers to sponsor skilled workers from overseas to fill positions they cannot find suitable local candidates for. It helps businesses address labour shortages while ensuring that Australian workers are given priority. The visa has three main streams:

  1. Core Skills Stream

  2. Specialists Skills Stream

  3. Labour Agreement Stream

Applicants must have the required skills and experience for the nominated occupation, meet English language requirements, and work only for their sponsoring employer. Workers can be sponsored for up to 4 years.


Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS) - Subclass 186

The Subclass 186 Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS) visa is a permanent residency visa for skilled workers who are nominated by an Australian employer. It allows them to live and work in Australia indefinitely. This visa is typically for individuals who have the necessary skills and experience for a job that an Australian business cannot fill locally. It has three streams:

  1. Temporary Residence Transition (TRT) Stream

  2. Direct Entry (DE) Stream

  3. Labour Agreement Stream

Applicants must have the required skills and experience for the nominated occupation, meet English language requirements, this is a Permanent Resident program and allows family members to be included in the application.


Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional - Subclass 494

The Subclass 494 Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional (Provisional) visa is a temporary visa that allows skilled workers to live and work in designated regional areas of Australia for up to five years. It is designed to help employers in regional areas fill labour shortages by sponsoring skilled overseas workers when they cannot find suitable Australian workers.

Holders of this visa can apply for permanent residency (Subclass 191 visa) after three years if they meet eligibility criteria, such as living and working in the designated regional area.
